In 1979 Bob Anderson saw the growing recycling industry as a business opportunity, starting Professional Institutional Services which would later be renamed “Pro. Baler Services.”
In February 1979 he sold his first baler to a Macey’s in Rose Park which was featured in an Intermountain Retailer Article. It was here where Anderson realized “The customers had nowhere to sell their cardboard.”
With this new opportunity, he founded InterWest Paper as a brokering company for baled materials. This served as a way for customers to be paid for their material, rather than being charged for having it hauled away. In turn, reducing landfill space, saving tip fees, and exercising corporate responsibility to help the environment.
Bob moved his growing companies to a new building in Murray in January 1994.
